Herr Schmidt: Herr Wachtmeister, wo ist der Dom, bitte? (Officer, where is the cathedral, please?)
Der Polizist: Der Dom ist nicht weit von hier. Geradeaus, dann links. (The cathedral is not far from here. Straight ahead, then left,)
Herr Schmidt: Wie, bitte? Können Sie das bitte wiederholen. (I beg your pardon? Could you repeat that, please.)
Der Polizist: Sie sind fremd hier, nicht war? (You are strangers, aren't you?)
Frau Scmidt: Wir kommen aus Amerika. (We come from America)
Der Polizist: Ach so, Sie sind Ausländer. Verstehen Sie mich? (Oh, I see, you are foreigners. Do you understand me?)
Frau Schmidt: Ja, ein bisschen. (Yes, a little)
Der Polizist: Kann ich sonnst noch helfen? (Can I help you in any other way?)
Herr Schmidt: Was ist das da drüben? (What is that over there?)
Der Polizist: Das ist das Rathaus. (That's the city hall.)
Frau Schmidt: Wo bekommen wir eine Hotelliste? (Where can we get a list of hotels?)
Der Polizist: Am Bahnhof. Da ist das Fremdverkehrsbüro. (At the railroad station. The Travelers' Information Office is there.)
Herr Schidt: Danke sehr! (Thank you very much.)
Der Polizist: Bitte schön! (You're welcome.)


1. Answer the following questions in German.
